The eco-chat group, “Green Drinks” meets tonight at the Arts Factory downtown.  The subject of discussion tonight is the film, “The Story of Stuff.”  It’s an interesting look at how we’ve come to be a consumer-driven culture of mass-production, over-consumption and horrible waste habits.  It just may change the way you look at all of your stuff!

The group meets at 6:30 at Studio West in the Arts Factory, located at 107 E. Charleston, Suite 250.  Some treats are provided for a small price, but there is no cost to attend the chew-n-chat.  You can RSVP on their Facebook page.  Now where did I put that weblink… I know it’s here in my stuff somewhere… oh - got it!

Green Drinks is an international organization with chapters all over the world.  The Las Vegas group is fairly young and will celebrate its two-year anniversary next month.  It doesn’t cost anything to join or attend the meetings.  You don’t have to work in an eco-field to be part of the group; you just have to have an interest in the environment and a passion to help save the planet.

The group meets every 2nd Thursday of the month at the Wolfgang Puck Cafe at the Springs Preserve.  The chat session starts at 6:00 and lasts until about 7:30 - or until the last green topic is consumed.  And it’s free!  You do have to buy your own drinks - green or otherwise.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

I know we’re closing in on St. Patrick’s Day, but there is a Green Drinks group which meets every month - not just in March - to tip the glass and chew the fat about eco topics right here in our desert backyard.  Las Vegas Green Drinks is a FREE networking group that creates awareness about eco-conscious businesses and concerns in Las Vegas.  Businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations participate, educate and connect to promote a greener world.

New green friends (not the leprechaun-type) are made every month.  And now the growing group has a new meeting place at the Springs Preserve starting tonight, March 12 at 6 p.m.  Head to the Wolfgang Puck restaurant and look for the signs.  Green Drinks meets every 2nd Thursday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  But this may be the only month that the drinks might really be green!
