Propane Propels Lawn Care To New Green Heights
We’re at the peak of spring and lawn care is in high gear. The demand for cleaner, greener tool technology is mowing over the conventional gas-guzzling, emissions-puking models of the past. The latest actually uses the same fuel as your camping stove or lantern!
Propane powers the LEHR eco-friendly lawn gear. Attach the little green tank, twist it tight and go! That’s it. It’s fast, easy and clean. The 16.4-oz propane tanks are available at most hardware and sporting goods stores - even Walmart - and cost about $5. They usually last about two hours. Depending on the size of the lawn, that should last long enough for at least several cuts and trims. The tanks are recyclable if you take them to the Republic Services Recycling Center on Gowan, but they won’t pick them up with your curbside recycling.
Capt. Bernardo Herzer developed the LEHR technology for lawn equipment after converting smaller engines to run on propane at sea. He says propane is a cleaner-burning fuel, so it’s easier to maintain the equipment, which is less costly for you and helps the tools last longer; it’s more sustainable. And that’s better for the environment.
“I believe we all have the responsibility to be a good steward to our environment.” says Herzer. “We believe propane isn’t the end-all product, but it’s a step in the right direction.” He says our powerful technologies and our society’s appetite for disposable comsumption can easily destroy our fragile planet if we don’t take the right actions to protect it.
Propane is a by-product of natural gas processing and oil refining, so it’s not 100% green, but it has zero ozone-depleting hydrocarbons and is 97% free of particulates and 96% free of carcinogens. The LEHR technology has been recognized with numerous awards, including the EPA’s Clean Air Excellence Award.
If you’d like to give the LEHR lawn equipment a twist for yourself - enter the giveaway on this blog page for a chance to win a mower, blower or trimmer for FREE! Winners will be drawn at the end of May. Good luck and mow on!

Propane sounds like a great idea.

Propane is listed as a good alternative fuel because it burns clean protecting the environment and as a result leaves engines cleaner requring less maintanence.

Propane powered lawn equipment offers several advantages not mentioned in the article. For one, fuel does not drip onto the lawn and kill grass as propane simply dissipates into the air. Propane is under pressure which ensures the carburetor is always fueled - think about how often you may need to tilt a lawn strimmer? Propane is a literal no brainer in terms of emissions to our environment and finally the cost of propane fuel is actually less than that of gasoline depending on where you buy it.

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Chrome. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the issue resolved soon. Many thanks

Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see if it can survive a thirty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!

Hey just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same outcome.

Hey! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My weblog looks weird when browsing from my apple iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to correct this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. With thanks!
