Where Does All That “Stuff” Come From?
The eco-chat group, “Green Drinks” meets tonight at the Arts Factory downtown. The subject of discussion tonight is the film, “The Story of Stuff.” It’s an interesting look at how we’ve come to be a consumer-driven culture of mass-production, over-consumption and horrible waste habits. It just may change the way you look at all of your stuff!
The group meets at 6:30 at Studio West in the Arts Factory, located at 107 E. Charleston, Suite 250. Some treats are provided for a small price, but there is no cost to attend the chew-n-chat. You can RSVP on their Facebook page. Now where did I put that weblink… I know it’s here in my stuff somewhere… oh - got it!

Sherry,
This is a great blog. I just returned from Vegas and while there were glimmers of hope on the Strip, I was surprised at how much more needs to be done to conserve water and energy in Las Vegas. I’d love to hear some of your thoughts on my analysis:

This film is mostly garbage, with bogus statistics and propaganda filth. I agree with doing our part to help the environment, but this film just adds more waste to the landfills. The first part of the film has one of the biggest pieces of garbage - that our government is here to take care of us (I’m paraphrasing). BULL!!! The rest of the film goes downhill from there, spewing absolute bogus statistics that, if one does their research, will know that most of the statistics quoted are nothing more than scare tactics to make corporations looks like the big, bad bullies that are destroying the planet. Give me a break!!! I’m sincerely disappointed in Channel 8, and in Sherry Swensk, for promoting this garbage. Channel 8 - PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH BEFORE PROMOTING ANYTHING ON YOUR SHOWS!!!
