Green Gifts From a Peaceful Place

My latest installment of “Green Gifts” for the holidays offers a huge variety from a peaceful place in Portland, OR.  Recycled glass tumblers, desk and wall clocks made from reclaimed bicycle parts and calendars that contemplate saving the planet 365 days a year.  You’ll find plenty of unique things at Peaceful Valley Gifts, and you don’t have to be a granola head to shop here.  Enjoy!

    Sherry,

I really enjoy this segment of the news each morning - especially Dave’s reaction to some of the products!

As prices continue to fall, many viewers won’t be able to resist buying a new computer or laptop this Holiday season. Did you know the Blind Center of Nevada recycles computers, monitors, keyboards, mice and printers? Besides saving valuable space in our landfills, sorting, refurbishing, and selling donated electronic equipment creates jobs for local blind/visually impaired people.

Items can be dropped off at the Center at 1001 N. Bruce Street Monday-Friday from 8-3 or, for larger donations, the Blind Center will pick them up. A tax donation letter is available upon request. Check out their website at http://www.blindcenter.org for more information.

And keep making me smile, even though it’s 5:00 a.m.!
